Senior Diamond Sorter – Kimberley

Leading Diamond Mining Group is looking for an experienced and qualified Senior Diamond Sorter for their facility in Kimberley in the Northern Cape Province.

Petra Diamonds is a leading independent diamond mining group and an increasingly important supplier of rough diamonds to the international market. The Company has interests in five producing mines: four in South Africa (Finsch, Cullinan, Koffiefontein and Kimberley Underground) and one in Tanzania (Williamson). It also maintains an exploration programme in Botswana.

Job Grade: C3

Job Description:

To sort diamonds according to standard operating procedures. The position is based at Harry Oppenheimer House in Kimberley.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Sort production as per required standards
Receive and ensure safety of product
Maintain and care for assets
Conduct general administrative tasks
Be flexible and available to work overtime, as required

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12
10 years’ plus experience in diamond sorting – essential
Experience in different diamond sorting disciplines, an advantage
Computer Literate in MS Office Suite
Valid drivers’ license

Good eyesight with three dimensional vision
Able to sit for long periods of time
Able to work in a team
Good communication skills
Trustworthy and assertive
Able to work under pressure
